Get ready to join the Barony of Selviergard for a day of bartering, fighting, fundraising, feasting, and fun. We’ll be kicking off the day with a good old fashioned Medieval Market. Bring any garb, gear and materials you no longer use or need and trade them away for some “new to you” treasures. But don’t forget to check out the treasures at the Silent Auction to help the Barony raise money for future projects. Then take a break to enjoy some Tacos and Nachos at the donation lunch supplied by the populace of Selviergard. Next wander outside to participate, or cheer on the competitors, as Selviergard’s new Rapier and Heavy Weapons Champions are chosen. Don’t forget to find time during the day to enjoy the Display Tables showing the works of Selveirgard’s Artisans as part of the Arts and Sciences Championship competition. Finally, round out your day with a potluck feast and some fun and games as we invite the attendees to participate in a “Fabric War”. The site fee is Donation Only so pay what you can and come join us for a grand kickoff to the Fall season.

Market/Swap Meet –

Please bring all the SCA appropriate items you no longer need or use and offer them for barter. This is a great way to switch up your gear and also a great way to get some of our Newcomers kitted out.

Silent Auction –

Members of the Populace have donated new and gently used treasures to help line the Barony’s coffers. Place your bid and try to bring home something special.

Fighting –

Selviergard will determine the Warlord and Rapier Champions with tournaments held during the event. The Warlord will be determined by last year’s Champion, Baron Hraði Kǫttr . The Rapier Champion will be fought in a Round Robin style tournament using Rapier and Cloak (to honor the Fabric in Fabric Warlords) as determined by last year’s Champion, Mistress Bernadette of Eskalya .

A&S Competitions –

Our first A&S competition is “Artisans Choice”. Artisans are encouraged to create something that fully shows off their skills. Judged by the populace.

Our Second A&S competition is a “Fantastic Four Largess” competition. Bring 4 items of largess. Each competitor will leave with a prize and the rest of the largess will be donated to Their Excellencies.

Artisans who wish to be considered for Selviergard’s A&S Champion are encouraged to set up a display of their work from the last year. (If you’ like display space, please contact the Event Stewards)

Feast –

Lunch will be a donation lunch Tacos and Nacho Buffet supplied by members of the populace of Selviergard.

Dinner will be a potluck feast. The site has a refrigerator, heat table and microwave for reheating your potluck contributions.

Parking –

Parking is shared with other Palmer businesses so come early to get the best spots.

Written Directions to Site:   

From Anchorage – follow the Glenn HWY to Palmer. Right on Evergreen Way (the main intersection in Palmer). Turn left on S. Alaska St for the Front Parking lot which will be on your right or left on S. Valley Way for the back parking lot which will be on your left.

From Wasilla – Follow the Palmer-Wasilla HWY to Palmer. Continue straight onto Evergreen Way. Turn left on S. Alaska St for the Front Parking lot which will be on your right or left on S. Valley Way for the back parking lot which will be on your left.

Terrain Description:   The terrain is fairly level with several paved sidewalks and clearings as well as some flat grassy areas. The main entrance to the Train Depot is level with the pavement leading up to it and there is a ramp inside between the lower lobby and the main gathering room. The Train Depot is in the center of the town of Palmer so attendees should be aware of moderate traffic on the nearby streets.
